USHA COLONY, DEHRADUN

The client’s brief was a Kerala-style home with a courtyard. The plot area was planned to incorporate a green courtyard with a retractable skylight on the roof. Khaprail roofed verandahs with a checkerboard black and white flooring pattern is part of the theme.

Wooden brackets have been used for the window chajjas, courtyard columns and a beautifully carved puja ghar door. The staircase abutting the courtyard is the heart of the home. Brick tiles have been used in the ceilings.
